Terms of Service
Last updated: September 11, 2026
These are the terms for using ClipStacks (clipstacks.app). By using the service, you agree to them. They're written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us (see Contact below) and we'll clarify or fix the wording.

Who can use ClipStacks
You must be at least 16 years old if you're in the European Economic Area, or at least 13 years old elsewhere, to use ClipStacks. If you don't meet that minimum age where you live, please don't create an account.
What ClipStacks does
You give ClipStacks a video URL (or a channel URL). Our AI analyzes it, picks the best moments, and renders them as short vertical (9:16) clips with burned-in captions, ready to post to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or Reels.
You're responsible for the content you process
This is the important one. You must have the right to process any video or content you submit to ClipStacks — whether that's because you own it, you have permission from whoever does, or your use otherwise falls within the law (e.g. fair use in your jurisdiction). ClipStacks is a tool, not a rights clearinghouse: we don't verify ownership of content you submit, and you're solely responsible for how you source videos and what you do with the clips ClipStacks generates from them, including where you publish them.
Technically, ClipStacks' servers fetch the source video using our own infrastructure and, in some cases, our own platform credentials — not yours — to download and process it. You're still responsible for complying with the source platform's own terms of service (for example YouTube's, Twitch's, or Kick's) whenever you give us a URL to download, and for any copyright or platform-policy consequences of the video you chose to submit. You agree to indemnify and hold ClipStacks harmless from any claim, loss, fine, or reasonable legal cost arising from content you submitted that you didn't have the right to use, or that breached the source platform's terms of service.
Acceptable use
Don't use ClipStacks to:
- Process content you don't have the rights to, or that infringes someone else's copyright
- Generate or distribute content that's illegal, harassing, or infringing
- Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent the service's usage limits or security
- Resell or redistribute access to the service itself without our agreement
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that clearly violate this — we'll try to be reasonable and give you a heads-up where practical.
Your clips belong to you
Clips you generate from content you have the rights to are yours. We claim no ownership over them. We don't sell or license your clips to anyone.
Plans, billing, and auto-renewal
ClipStacks has a free plan and a paid Pro plan:
- Free — a one-time starter allowance of 5 generations to try the product, then 1 generation per day, forever. The starter allowance itself never expires, but a day's unused generation doesn't roll over to the next — it's simply gone. Free renders carry a small ClipStacks watermark, are limited to the top 3 AI-picked clips per run, and source videos are capped at 45 minutes.
- Pro — $9/month, 30 generations per day. No watermark, no cap on clips per run, source videos up to 3 hours in the clip pipeline. Pro also includes a combined 600-minute (10-hour) budget of source-video length across all your generations each calendar month — it resets at the start of the next calendar month and unused budget does not roll over. Billed and processed by Stripe.
These are the current limits, enforced server-side and shown live in the app (your credits counter, upgrade prompts, and the video-length check) — if a number here ever looks out of date, what the app itself shows you is authoritative.
Clips you generate — on either plan — are kept on our servers for 30 days and then automatically removed by an hourly cleanup sweep; delete a clip yourself sooner from the Library any time before that if you'd like it gone earlier. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Pro is a recurring subscription that renews automatically. Once you subscribe, we bill $9/month to your payment method every month until you cancel — there is no fixed term and no separate reminder before each renewal charge. You can cancel yourself, any time, from the account menu in the app ("Manage subscription") — it opens Stripe's secure billing portal, where cancellation is one click. The same portal lets you update your card and view invoices. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep Pro access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
Your right to cancel (EU/UK 14-day withdrawal right)
If you're a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you generally have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. ClipStacks Pro is a digital service that we begin supplying immediately (as soon as you start generating clips with it) rather than after a waiting period.
Under consumer-protection law, that withdrawal right can only be waived if checkout gives you an explicit statement — before you pay — that starting the service immediately means giving up the right, and you affirmatively agree to that. Our checkout asks for exactly that consent: a checkbox, separate from entering your payment details, asking you to confirm you want ClipStacks Pro to start immediately and that you understand the 14-day withdrawal right ends once the service has been performed.
Where you saw and checked that box, the withdrawal right lapses once the service has been performed — in practice, once you've started using Pro. If that consent step wasn't shown to you at checkout for any reason, the waiver doesn't apply to you and you keep the full 14-day right of withdrawal. Either way, if you believe you're entitled to a refund under this right, email support@clipstacks.app within 14 days of subscribing and we'll honor it.
Refunds and chargebacks
Outside of the withdrawal right above, we don't offer partial refunds for unused time in a billing period once you've started using it — cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current period. If you have a specific situation, or the billing portal isn't working for you, email support@clipstacks.app and we'll sort it out.
If you dispute a charge with your card issuer (a chargeback) instead of contacting us first, we may suspend or terminate your account while the dispute is investigated. Emailing us first is almost always faster than a chargeback.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipStacks' total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is limited to the total fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
No uptime guarantee
ClipStacks is built and run by one person on a modest, hobby-tier host, not a large team with an SLA. We do our best to keep things running and to fix problems quickly when they come up, but the service is provided as-is, without any guarantee of uptime, availability, or that it will always work exactly as expected. Don't rely on ClipStacks for anything where downtime would cause you serious harm.
Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the laws of Norway, and subject to the jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts. If you're a consumer habitually resident in the EU, EEA, or UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your own country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country where applicable law grants you that right.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may update ClipStacks' features or these terms as the product evolves. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use ClipStacks after a change means you accept the updated terms.
